In Minnesota, you need to be on all of it, you can't pick and choose. A friend of mine had a girl living with him who needed child care while she went to college, but to get it she was signed up for everything, even though she didn't want or need it.
So there she was living in a house on a lake, going to college, and recieving food stamps/EBT card.
They never used them, and she is now a prospering member of society. She just needed help with child care, nothing else, but they seem to want to create a dependence on this system.

There is a family on welfare and energy subsidy living ina large house in our block and ALL WINDOWS ARE OPEN WIDE..It is freezing 28 degrees outside..yes we the tax payers pay their fuel bill !!!

Gaurav:I am a retired Grandmother raising two of my grandchildern, Something I thought I would never have to do, but my son decided to make some bad choices and now we are all paying for it. I do get food stamps and and a small alottment of money each month (the money is in lieu of child support that I am not getting from the parents). The where abouts of the Mother is unknown. The children are 4 years old and 15 months old. I only get $487 a month from social security. With out help from my state government I could not do what I am doing and they would have to go to foster care. The 4 year old is severely ADHD and emotional problems and with out Medicad he would not be able to have the medicines he so badly needs to just have a normal day. I don't buy luxury items for my self, and spend it all on the children. He has a restricted diet, no sugar, dyes, wheat products, must be gluten free. It does make me mad also that others are abusing the help. I worked for 45 years before retiring and do not feel bad about needing help now.
Gurmani:Well the Poor need their morning jolt too! It is funny to read the Leftwingers justifying the fact Welfare is a way of life for millions. I guess pride has left the room. How about the same debit cards being used in Casinos, cruise ships, Disneyland? Oh WT H we taxpayers can afford it.
